Exercising rays of sunshine

I wish I could say that I haven't blogged because I ate myself into a chocolate induced coma... well, I nearly did and have the spots ot prove it. Argh. Why does chocolate have to cause spots? It's just not fair.

Sugar and I are officially (no more excuses) back at gym. Yes we are. This is it. I was doing so well and lost a lot of weight...that should have been motivating enough but I fell off the wagon and enough is enough.
I actually forgot how much fun we have and how much I laugh at the two of us (afterwards...not during)
We always arrive in our gym attire looking at the gym doors like we're about to enter hell. We basically grunt at each other, give each a half-hearted morning hug, take a deep breath and walk in. Our gym cards are swiped and we look at the equipment like they're aliens who might and probably will hurt us.
Our spinning instructor is waaaay too cheerful in the morning.
"Gooood Moooorning Rays of Sunshine!!"
I made the mistake of once barking out: "What's good about it?"
He then decided it was his mission to "cheer me up" by winking at me, blasting the music, sending smiles of encouragement and basically annoying the crap out of me while he made us sweat on level 9 (standing on the pedals) for 12 frikken minutes - 5 times.
I also "cheerfully" curse Sugar. I tell her how much I hate her for doing this to me. I am really wonderful. In fact I could hire myself out as the "ultimate gym partner... just what you need to get you going...literally...away from me."
We do this one exercise where we lie on a bench and do stomach crunches while Sugar throws a medicine ball at, I mean, to me. I groan, grunt and cause havoc in the gym while everyone throws "shut-the-f*ck-up" looks at me. I need to get through the pain by letting everyone know just hard I am working, even if it means that the people on the opposite side of the gym hear me.

Afterwards, however, is a very different story. I feel those little endorphins buzzing through the bod. I feel exhilirated and I'm ready to face my day as a "ray of sunshine". In fact I'm so chuffed with the fact that I didn't get a hernia and I didn't pass out in a sweaty mess, that Sugar and I congratulate each other on the way out. We hi-5 each other and tell each other how fabulous we are and how we instantly look skinnier than we did when we arrived. We even celebrate across the road with a skinny cupaccino or 3.
Good times.
Good Skinnier Times.

I'm done.

I am exhausted. Done. Over it. I seriously need a holiday. I have finally put in leave. I can hardly wait!
I have two weeks and then I piss off down to the coast. I'm going to learn how to scuba dive and I'm going to get an overdose of Vitamin D hopefully that comes in the form of a bronzed tan.

I can't wait to smell the salty spray of the ocean, feel the beach sand between my toes and to finally be able to relax without having to worry about what I should be doing.
I am literally ticking the days off of my calendar. I'll be away from the 22nd December 2008 - 4th January 2009.

THIS is where I'm going:

PS> Thank you for your comments in my previous post - I don't know what to say really...I am just incredibly grateful for your support and kindness...I just don't know what to say other than Thank You!

Don't talk to me...talk to my lawyer!

I am suing Veet Hair Removal. I can't really, but I followed every instruction. I bought that cream you can use in the shower. I even did the bloody test patch...who actually does that?
I do. Nothing happened. I then applied it all over my legs and waited to see if I could feel any tingling. Nothing. I blissfully shower away and after 6 minutes I started washing it off.
I have had such an allergic reaction to this stuff, my legs look as if I've been stung by a million bees. It is so sore that I can't even put pants on, so unfortunately I am wearing a dress today and having to show off my red rash.
Fuckers.
So that's the thing...I can't sue them even though I followed the instructions. How would I prove that?
Fuckers.
God it's sore!

On a lighter less painful note, I am really enjoying the sunshine we're experiencing in Joburg. It's beautiful. My right arm is actually a little tanned from all the driving I've been doing.
Hooray. I am done with winter. I've had it. If I get one more static shock I'm going to lose it. I am practically bathing in body butter yet I am so dry it is disgusting. Nice and flaky. I have had enough of drowning my lips in Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour cream and still having unkissable dry, chapped lips. Enough now! *Sorry Elizabeth Arden....*
However, when winter does eventually end I'm going to have to reveal my white-see-through skin and those comfortable clothing layers will disappear. Hmmm...although, for the first time in um, well, 25 years I've been sticking to this health regime so hopefully I'll be bikini ready. Hopefully.

I was really good. I didn't devour prawns and took a note out of your book. Clearly most of you are health bunnies! Share your secrets!! How do you do it?
I ate grilled lemon and black pepper chicken with gem squash and peas. How good am I?
*Blogshell pats herself on the back.*
This week alone I have been to boxing 3 times, tomorrow will make it 4 times.

It's the weekend peeps! I am celebrating my heritage today and I'm very excited about it! Big celebrations.
I am also really excited about this weekend...have big parties ahead and it should be scandalous and fabulous!
ENJOY!!

Weekend ahead

The South African Music Awards (SAMA's) are happening tonight at Sun City and this is the first year in four that I am not going. I'm pretty bummed about it, to be completely honest. I loved being put up in the main Sun City hotel, I, personally, loved the hamper basket we got with nuts, biltong, champagne, dried fruit etc. Yes, I know. Nerd.
I especially loved getting dressed up in a designer gown, having the hair and make-up done and feeling all very Hollywood for an evening. The ceremony is admittedly, a little boring, but I enjoy watching the performances.
It's the After Party that is always sensational. Last year was a sit down dinner on the Friday evening and then on the Saturday (night of the awards) we all party.
We aren't going because we were supposed to be going down to the coast for the long weekend and then I ended up having to work.

I personally hope: Karen Zoid, Freshly Ground, Flat Stanley, Koldproduk, Loyiso and Niemand win awards! They really deserve it!

I, on the other hand, have found something to do for Sunday. I am rather excited about this.
I have found a cute spa called Rose Well Spa. It's out in Magaliesberg and it looks absolutely gorgeous!
I have decided to surprise the man. I have told him that he needs to be up at 8am on Sunday because I'm taking him somewhere special.
I have booked this for the 2 of us:
  • Steam room.
  • Herbal milk and roses aromatherapy foam bath including dry exfoliation and scalp and foot rub.
  • Hot stone back, neck and shoulders massage.
  • Pamper Facial.

After that I am taking him for lunch. I have no idea where, but we'll be in the country and I'm looking forward to just taking a drive out and finding something quaint and relaxing! I can't wait.

I really hope the weather warms up. So much for the sunshine, today is cold, drizzling and grey.

I am happy it's the weekend though! Wooohoo!
