Birthday Weekend

On Friday night I had my Twenty Sexy Birthday Party at Cedar Square. I hired out a private dining room and bar and had all my good friends there for dinner and drinks. It was absolutely fantastic. I had to drink so many birthday drinks that I am surprised I lasted as long as I actually did!
We landed up at FTV and eventually left at 3am. It was a total blast, even if I didn’t feel the same the next day.

I spent most of the day trying to recover for Sugar’s Twenty Sexy birthday party. It was at Colony Arms for the karaoke. I was warned that we would probably be the oldest there and not to expect too much. Um. Ok.
Well I felt as if I was surrounded by twelve year olds and I was back in my student days with drinks costing the bare minimum. It was great fun. I owned Britney Spears’ One More Time in karaoke. I even did some of the dance moves. Yes I did. What? The drinks were cheap. I met all of Sugars friends...great group of people... especially a certain someone;someone that caught my eye. But, *sigh* they left early so there went that idea! Haha! Just kidding!

I eventually went home at 1am and avoided the road blocks. Metro Cops had stopped striking so I think they were making up for lost time.

Sunday morning was spent driving to Hartebeespoort Dam with my family to a place called The Windmill. It sells organic fruit, vegetables, freshly baked bread, homemade jams and cheeses, amazing meat selections and so on. We love going there, stocking up on gorgeous foods and enjoying the drive with the roof down of the car and taking in the fresh air.

I got back just in time to get ready for the twins 30th birthday party at Longmeadow’s. Tables were set out in the garden and it was really beautiful... speeches were made, the most delicious food was served...don’t get me started on the chocolate brownie and white chocolate birthday cake. I went to spinning today and I think I just worked off the cake.
The Twins cutting their birthday cake!

Right so, after a hectic weekend, Monday night was spent in bed. Nope. It was spent at very good friends home. Survivor and his fiancé cooked Burmese chicken with a coriander and pear salad. Chocolate Soufflé was served for desert with chocolate tot glasses, Bailey’s Irish Cream and champagne. I laughed and laughed and had the best night. I only got home after midnight.

The single life is great… I’m doing whatever I like, how I like it and according to my style. Selfish? Not at all. I’m connecting with all the people I really love and never got a chance to spend as much time with as I liked. It’s not to say that I didn’t spend time with my friends, it’s just that I’m getting to spend MORE time with them. It’s wonderful.

FOUR

I smell like babies. Cute, Johnson and Johnson babies! The twins, Twinkles and Nails had me around for tea and fudge this morning. It was lovely! I got to see Twinkles new baby girl (she's 3 weeks old and so tiny) and Nails 4 month baby boy! Man, but they are so cute!
I got broody, but I'm cool now because I got to hand babies back!

Is that rain? Hell yes. Ok well, it's hardly rain, more like a splutter of water from the clouds above. Still, it was nice to smell that rain smell!!

Being Brazen tagged me in a meme called FOUR... (I feel special)
Four is my favourite and lucky number, so why not?

1.Four places I go to over and over:
*Boxing gym in Fourways
*My local Pick n Pay
* Various coffee shops -depends where I am, but generally in a coffee shop
*Work

2. Four people who e-mail me regularly:
* Tshego from work
* Facebook -letting me know what is happening on my page.
* Special K and Blondie 2 (much of a muchness)
* My mom

3. Four of my favorite places to eat:
*Adega -give me the 1kilo of prawns. NOW.
*My parents house
* Any seafood restaurant really...
* Our own or friend's braai's (BBQ's)

4. Four places you'd rather be:
* In bed for a DVD marathon with butter popcorn
* sipping Pina Colada's on a tropical island
* in my mans arms.
* travelling the world

5. Four TV shows I could watch over and over:
* The Hills
* Sex and The City
* CSI (any one)
* Gillmore Girls

I know I need to tag people, but I can't bring myself to do it, so oblige me if you want to! C'mon! I know you want to!

Twin Fever

I have posted before about twins. I adore them. They fascinate me and I love the concept of identical twins! I embarrass myself generally when I see baby/toddler twins!
Anyways, with that said, what the HELL is going on with Hollywood?
Seriously!!!

It's like Twin Fever at the moment.

Let's count the parents who have twins: Julia Roberts and Danny Moder, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Maria Cross and her husband, Dixie Chick Martie Macguire, Geena Davis and her husband, Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Dennis Quaid and his wife.
Those are the ones I know of.

Last week there was news that Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell are expecting twins and this morning there is news that Lisa Marie Presley is pregnant with twins.
WTF?

Sure, it makes sense to have two babies in one shot as an actress, celebrity etc... get it done, you know? You don't have to get your body back into shape two times, you don't have to take double the maternity leave so you're able to do more movies/TV shows/music tours etc...
I do see the perks but as far as I understand, falling pregnant with twins is not something that is extremely common. Is everyone in Hollywood on fertility treatments or maybe there's a pill on the market?
Maybe there's an infomercial for it:
Are you constantly in demand?
Do you not have time to go through the birth process twice?
Well we have the perfect solution!
Introducing Double Dose!
Simply take 2 identical tablets and you'll fall pregnant with not one, but two babies!
Money back guarantee after 9 months!
But wait....there's more!!!
If you call now, we'll throw in not one, but two nannies with their own entourage to help you out!
Call Today!

Whatever it is, it's really really odd.

Here is the pic of Hollywoods latest twins - the luckiest kids around with an almost perfect gene pool:

My morning in the mall...

How is it that I manage to trip UP stairs? How is that I manage to trip over my own feet? I am so clumsy, it's embarrassing. I was walking in the mall today and all of a sudden my one foot stepping out caught my other heel and I stumbled and lost a shoe. This shoe went flying across the tiled floor and I had to have someone pick it up for me and walk 2 meters to give it to me. I wanted to sink into the floor. I immediately looked at the shoe as if to say: "Damn heels! The heels broken!" It wasn't, but I needed some excuse!

I am also a sucker for twins! Baby twins. If I see a double pram strolling along I immediately stop the mom crouch down and coo! If they're identical I'm even worse! I have no idea what it is about twins. Secretly (hmm...does this "secret" still count now that I've said this on my blog?) I hope I have twins one day, despite the hard bloody work it involves! Today I saw this mom with twin daughters. Beautiful little things with big blue eyes, curly blonde hair and dimples. Well I startled the mom by rushing over. I did my"Awww-ing and Ooooh-ing" when the girls instantly started crying. I got the dirtiest look from the mom, which was quite right, I guess. I just can't help myself. I'm an embarrassment to all my friends around me.

I sat down to have a quick coffee and to rest my sore feet. I am going to sound like an insensitive bitch. I'm not.The waiter came over and I didn't know which eye to look at. His one eye was staring out to the left. I was so uncomfortable because I kept shifting my eyes from the one to the other and all I could think of is: "Which eye do I look at? Oh shit. Now he knows I'm looking at his bad eye. Crap. Oh shit this is so uncomfortable and now I'm most likely making him uncomfortable by making him aware that I'm aware! Oh shit!"So I looked at his lips but he had a huge wet pimple on his top lip and then I felt even more uncomfortable because he was probably aware of his huge, yellow zit and now I had to make it even more obvious by looking/staring at his zit. Shit!

I then decided I need to buy myself some new clothes, maybe just a new skirt and pair of pants. What the hell has happened to the sizes? I'm not the tiniest of girls, I mean I'm no rival for Size 0 Victoria Beckham, but I'm not a "Fuller sized" woman either. I'm in the middle. I picked up my standard 12 and I had to triple check the tag because I was convinced I had picked up an 8. It was the tiniest thing I've ever seen. I then looked at the 14, it looked like a 10. The 16 looked all right, except when it came to trying it on the most awful change room, I could barely get the pants passed my hips. WTF is going???? Depressing.

I'm so looking forward to the weekend. I need to chill! Tonight I'm going to watch the 2 bands, Wonderboom and Holly and the Woods. Should be awesome! I'm getting hassled to have a birthday party tomorrow night, but I haven't planned anything. If I do, I'll be sure to let you know all about it on Monday!

Have a wicked weekend
