Detoxing and wind...say what?

Today is the 28th of August. The Windy month. Today has been the first bit of wind we've experienced. I'm not complaining. Thing is, my sinus' are. I am actually struggling to breathe with all the dust and muck circulating through the air. Argh!

Last night rocked. Yes it did. We drank copious amounts of shooters and transformed New Years and the birthday into one. When we "cheers-ed" we all clunk the glasses together shouting: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
It was fun for us. Not so much for the other people, after the 8th or 12th time. Odd that.
A couple of my mates are going on a 6 week detox of no alcohol. Where is the fun in that? Seriously.
I started thinking about this. Is it that hard?

Yes.

Oh shit. Am I an alcoholic?

Noooo.... Am I?

I have been looking back at some of my posts. Debauchery, hangovers, copious amounts of alchohol.
Crap.

Maybe I should do the detox and see how long I last? Can The Blogshell refrain from alcohol for 6 weeks?
Gulp.

if I'm not drinking, I'm gonna need sex at least twice a day. And we all know that the only way I'm gonna get sex twice a day, is unfortunately............Mono-Erotic.

What with me having an ex who was alcoholic and all, don't worry,if you're thinking about your intake etc, I suspect you're NOT one. Just a normal person who overindulges now and then like we all do. But a de-tox is a good challenge. I did it, no alcohol for a few months (to clear my system from the ex and his drunken ways) and I felt so much clearer. Yes, it's hard though, when you go out. But try it and keep us posted. Your observations will be interesting!

Ahh yea but if you remain sober then you can REALLY see how everyone else is when they're pissed...can be highly entertaining

There's nothing wrong with your drinking habits...my god...if someone can't enjoy a random night out once a week then there's a serious problem! I believe you'll do more harm to your body by 'confiscating' the booze rather than just having a few every now & then & it will not be fun!

Dude...enjoy yourself...we are here once on this planet...if you know that you can go a weekend without partying or the need for booze then you'll know that you're not an alchie!

Its more like that if you cant go a single day without a drink, you drink alone and in secret and it is effecting your work and relationships - then your an alcoholic

I've done it before and it makes you feel frikken good and then helps you realise how utterly crap alcohol is for you. I no longer had those depressing Sunday nights or felt horrid on Monday morning - it's amazing how our weekends of excess actually affect us.

The other problem of course is that binge drinking is actually what is the worst for you and it is what we all do. Having a couple of glasses of a wine an evening isn't bad for you, it's absteining for the week and then having all of them on one night which is bad for us :(

Try do it, it actually was such an eye opening for me.

Especially seeing my friends pissed and realising how horrid it is when we are.

AND you discover that there are actually loads more things that you can do without alcohol to have fun in your life. Plus you get your days back instead of lying in bed with the hangover.

Personally I enjoy my weekends more without booze :)
